More About Me

I’m a constant creator and information omnivore. I use my broad interests and skills — from circus history to watercolor painting — as inspiration to craft content that educates and engages in innovative ways. I’ve created entire websites, curricula, resources, and programs to appeal to audiences ranging from elementary school students to retirees. I’m equally comfortable serving on-site visitors and website users on the other side of the globe.

Whether I’m developing a new online feature, a grant proposal, or a team-building scavenger hunt, I am passionate about quality and originality. And I’m committed to making products that stand out from the crowd.

Education

As an American Studies major at Yale, I embraced the opportunity to write about topics ranging from the evolution of the American backyard to the probable impact of GMOs. My senior thesis explored the history of children’s museums and their role in contemporary communities, cementing my interest in informal education and inquiry-based learning.

Experience

Since 2013, I’ve worked as an independent content and curriculum consultant, continuing to feed my appetite for variety. In addition to a hefty portfolio of lesson plans, I’ve created newsletters, pop-up exhibits for special events, video lessons, and social media-friendly infographics on a wide range of topics. I also coach individuals on how to improve their own content creation and streamline their content management processes.

For over a decade, I worked extensively with NewseumED, the education team at the Washington, D.C.-based Freedom Forum Institute (and the now-closed Newseum). In this time, I helped them grow from a small department focused on on-site offerings to a global educational resource. NewseumED.org, an online portal for free access to lesson plans, visual guides, instructional videos, artifacts, and more, has over 100,000 registered users and a reach of over 11 million students around the world. The content I created for this resource has been formally endorsed by the National Council for the Social Studies and honored by the American Association of School Librarians as a Best Website for Teaching and Learning in 2018.

Prior to joining NewseumED, I worked for Frontline, the PBS public affairs documentary series. As a researcher and later a site producer for their website, I honed my content skills on a broad swath of topics, from rural poverty and the criminal justice system to medical mysteries and religion. I planned site architecture and created features including timelines, FAQs, slideshows, and articles to enhance and complement on-air programming.

What’s Next?

I’m always hungry for a new challenge, looking for the next way to turn complicated into captivating and create lasting impressions. What puzzle can I help you solve?
